October 31, 2004. Resurrection Lutheran
Church in Kyiv has celebrated the Reformation Day. (On
this day in 1517 Dr. Martin Luther has begun Reformation of
the Church by nailing 95 theses on the Castle Church door in
Wittenberg. Dr. Luther has urged the Church to return to the
Gospel.)


After participating in the liturgy, Kyivan Lutherans were
greeted by "Little Angels" children drama group and
by the church choir. Celebrations were finished by a reception.
Parish members especially like a cake (20 pounds) that was baked
for the Reformation Day celebrations by Mrs. Horpynchuk.

29, 2004. Pastor Pavlo Bohmat accepted the Call to serve as
missionary in Donetsk. In his letter to the
Bishop, Pastor Bohmat writes, "May the Lord bless this
Call and my ministry not for my glory but to add saved souls
to Christ's Church so that His Gospel be spread on the Ukrainian
lands
" Episcopate of the ULC joins this pastoral
prayer and wishes Rev. Pavlo all the richest God's blessings
in his mission!

October 12-18, 2004.
Bishop V'yacheslav Horpynchuk and Pastor Neal Schroeder, who
officially represents the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod
have visited parishes and institutions that are located in the
Galician Eparchy of the ULC. Bishop Horpynchuk and
Pastor Schroeder have had meetings with the leadership of the
Lord's Cross Church in Kremenets, with seminarians of the Ukrainian
Lutheran Theological Seminary of Saint Sophia, with pastors
of other congregations. Bishop Horpynchuk and Pastor Schroeder
have participated in the liturgy in Ivano-Frankivsk congregation
on October 17. Pastor Serhiy Romaniuk is serving the ULC parish
in Ivano-Frankivsk.

10, 2004. Resurrection congregation in Kyiv has celebrated Harvest
Festival.

Grateful Christians brought their thanks to God Who provides
generously. Special thanks were brought for God's special gift
- His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, Who saved us for eternal
life. The worship service was ended with a play "Ruth".


It was presented by "Little Angels" drama ministry.
Then congregation members and guests were invited to taste wonderful
gifts from the fields and forests brought by their brothers
and sisters.
