October 29, 2006. Reformation
Sunday has been celebrated in the Ukrainian Lutheran Church.
On this Sunday we remember beginnings of the Lutheran Reformation
that began on October 31, 1517. On that day Martin Luther has
nailed his famous 95 thesis onto the door of the Castle Church
in Wittenberg. Dr. Luther protested against selling forgiveness
for money and against contempt of the Word of God. This Reformation
brought to renewal of the Church, to return of her to the Apostolic
Church beliefs and practices. Resurrection Lutheran Church in
Kyiv has celebrated this Sunday by the Holy Liturgy and by concert
of the congregational choir and by flute concert of Oleksiy
Petryk. All the congregation members especially liked "Martin
and Katarina" play about last days of life of Dr. Martin
Luther with wonderful performance of Mykola Danylov as Martin
Luther and Liudmyla Zinchenko as Katarina von Bora.

September 19, 2006. The Lord
has taken to His heavenly home Dr. Kurt Marquart, CTS Professor.
Many Ukrainian Lutherans have loved Professor
Marquart and appreciated him at the Free Seminars as a distinguished
theologian, eloquent teacher and a man who loved the Lord
and His people. May the Lord bless Dr. Marquart's wife,
Barabara and may He strengthen on these days also all of
his relatives, and all the people who loved the professor
dearly. We will see him again. The Lord Jesus Christ says,
"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth
in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever
liveth and believeth in Me shall never die" (John 11:25,
26). To you, dear web-site visitors, we propose picture
collection, "Professor Kurt Marquart: In Ukraine and
with Ukrainians". |
