March 31, 2006. Doctor Wayne Borgwardt
has introduced Mr. William Krug and his spouse, Mrs. Faith Krug
to Bishop V'yacheslav Horpynchuk. The Krugs Famiky
were sent by the Thoughts of Faith mission society to Ukraine
to help Pastor Serhiy Romaniuk with evangelism and mission work
in Ivano-Frankivsk. Brother William and sister Faith also plan
to teach English in the city. Bishop V'yacheslav, William and
Faith Krug have discussed perspectives of evangelism and missions
in Ukraine.

March 21, 2006. Pastoral Conference
of the Kyivan Eparchy took place in Kyiv. Pastor
Zinchenko was leading the Conference. Rev. Oleh Stetsiuk,Head
of the Tavrian Eparchy and Rev. Serhiy Borsch, pastor of All
the Saints Lutheran Church from Kharkiv were key-speakers. Pastor
Oleh Stetsiuk has presented his paper "Relations Principles
within the Christian Church (Apostolic Period)". He has
characterized establishment and development of Christian culture
and ethics after the Pentecost. Pastor Serhiy Borsch has presented
his essay "Challenges to Christianity that Come from Modern
Arts." He has analyzed works of modern writers and singers
(such as Dan Brown) from a Christian prospective. Pastors have
also discussed life in the parishes the Lord has call them to
serve to.

March 19, 2006. Pastor Vadym Zinchenko,
Head of the Kyivan Eparchy has installed Rev. Vadym
Kolesnyk to serve as Missionary in Donetsk. Installation took
place during the Holy Liturgy. Pastor Serhiy Borsch of All the
Saints Lutheran Church from Kharkiv was assisting Rev. Zinchenko.
Eparchy Head, V. Zinchenko has also visited with the members
of the ULC parish in Dontesk.

March 15, 2006. Pastor Oleh Stetsiuk,
Head of the Tavrian Eparchy upon invitation of Kherson Oblast
governor, Mr. B. Silenkov, has visited presentation of Vasyl
Piddubniak's book "Moloch's Harvest: Famine of 1932-1933
in Kherson Oblast." The author has shared his
experience and emotions that he had while writing the book about
the genocide the Soviets had committed toward the Ukrainian
nation. Vasyl Piddubniak has also mentioned that he wished to
show not so executors as a godless system that gave those terrible
orders.

March 13-17, 2006. Bishop V'yacheslav
Horpynchuk has delivered lectures on the Book of Revelation.
The lectures were given at the Ukrainian Lutheran
Theological Seminary of Saint Sophia which is located in Velyka
Berezovytsia near Ternopil. Students had possibilities to review
with Apostle John prophecies about New Testament era of the
Church up to the return of the Savior and His visible reign
in glory.

March 12, 2006. Bishop V'yacheslav
Horpynchuk has visited ULC parish in Vorobiyivka, Ternopil Oblast.
Bishop and Deacon Victor Haustov have led the parishioners in
worshipping the Lord during the Holy Liturgy. Bishop
V'yacheslav has also learned about local parish life and had
visits with church members in the village. The Lutheran church
in this village has gone through tribulations of threats from
some locals who associate themselves with the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic
Church but the Lord has been with His people in the Word and
Sacrament, so Lutherans remained faithful to their Confessions.
Reverend Oleh Yukhymenko serves as pastor in this congregation.

March 5, 2006. Ordination of Serhiy
Kudryk has taken place during celebrating the hly liturgy in
Resurrection Lutheran Church in Kyiv. Serhiy Kudryk
has graduated Ukrainian Lutheran Theological Seminary of Holy
Sophia in 2005. Bishop Vyacheslav Horpynchuk was leading the
ordination service and his assistance were: Head of the Kyivan
Eparchy, Pastor Vadym Zinchenko, Thoughts of Faith mission society
representative, Dr. Wayne Borgeardt, and Ascension Lutheran
Church pastor, rev. Oleh Okruhin. Pastor Kudryk will serve a
s a missionary in Chernihiv. Members of the Church have greeted
heartily a new ULC pastor and wished him many happy and blessed
years in the ministry as well as bestowed him with gifts such
as pastoral stoles and Holy Communion sets. We also wish Pastor
Serhiy many happy and blessed years in the ministry to the glory
of God!

March 3 , 2006. Bishop Vyacheslav
Horpynchuk with other the All-Ukrainian Church Council members
had a meeting with President Victor Yuschenko. President
of Ukraine has assured churches' leaders in his commitment to
religious freedom and also promised his assistance in responding
to churches' requests and solving problems of religious communities.
President has also responded to requests of the Ukrainian Lutheran
Church about granting equal rights to children that are not
born yet (and there is already progress in this matter in Ukraine
since the last meeting with the President) and also with the
church property in Ternopil. City authorities there block normal
developments of parish life of the ULC. Bishop Vyacheslav Horpynchuk
has also made a gift of the Children's Garden of the Bible Stories
and the Book of Concord in Ukrainian. President Yuschenko has
gratefully accepted those precious gifts.

March 1 , 2006. ULC Budget Committee
meeting took place in Kyiv. Deacon Vasyl Andreychul
was leading the meeting. Members of the Budget Comnittee have
discussed principles of the budget priorities for the year 2007
and have suggested them to local congregations and ministries.
Bishop Vyacheslav Horpynchuk and Head of the Ukrainian Mission
Council, Rev. Olexandr Dich as well as other guests have participated
in the meeting.
