On
April 1-5 Bishop of the Ukrainian Lutheran Church V'yacheslav
Horpynchuk visited Lutheran congregations of the Kyiv Eparchy
in Oleksandria, Zaporizhzhia, and Tokmak, Central Ukraine. The
Bishop was accompanied by Secretary of the ULC Episcopate Ihor
Rudzik, head of the Kyiv Ascension congregation Oleksandr Khyliuk,
and representatives of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod
Mr. And Mrs. Conzelmann. The Bishop had meetings with pastor
of the Oleksandria congregation of the Holy Trinity Oleksand
Dich, members of the congregation, and representatives of the
city authorities. On Palm Sunday together with reverent Serhiy
Zuyev Bishop Horpynchuk conducted liturgies in the blessed congregations
of Zaporizhzhia and Tokmak.
From
March 5 through March 14, 2004, the ELS President John Moldstad,
Professor Adolph Hardstad, Mr. Daniel Browning and Mr. Mark
Schwan have visited the Ukrainian Lutheran Church on invitation
of Bishop V'yacheslav Horpynchuk. Dear guests from our sister
churches in the U.S.A. visited parishes and
ministries of the ULC in Kyivan, Galician and Tavrian Eparchies.
The guests were accompanied by Bishop V'yacheslav Horpynchuk

A. D. Children Drama Group and ULC Choir have presented to the
ULC members in Kyiv a concert with Christian songs, Psalms and
Christian poetry of Taras Shevchenko. Ukrainians
celebrate this year the 190th anniversary of this great Ukrainian
leader and poet.

Signing Ceremony took place in the Resurrection congregation
in Kyiv. Dr.
Robert Rahn, Lutheran Heritage Foundation Executive Director;
Pastor Oleh Stetsiuk, ULC Litrugucal Committee Head; David
Jay Webber, Saint Sophia Ukrainian Lutheran Theological
Seminary Rector; Mrs. Carol Webber; Ihor Rudzik, ULC Secretary;
Mrs. Inna Rudzik and Mr. Vadym Solodkiy placed their signatures
under their names in the Worship Book. The Ceremony lasted
longer than it was planned because of many parish members'
desire to have a signed book. |

A. D. Dr. Robert Rahn, the Executive Director of the Lutheran
Heritage foundation is visiting the Ukrainian Lutheran Church.
On March 5 Dr. Rahn has had a meeting with Bishop V'yacheslav
Horpynchuk, laymen and pastors that participate actively in
preparation of the Lutheran Confessional literature and the
Chairman of the State Committee of Ukraine on Religious Affairs,
Dr. Victor Bondarenko.
